5 Reasons Why You Should Be Using Natural Skincare Products.

Does This Sound Familiar?

You eat well, avoid junk and processed foods and overall try to live a healthy lifestyle. You only buy organic foods and get into the gym regularly to keep your body in good shape.

What Else Can You Do?

An increasing number of us are trying to adopt the same natural ethics when it come down to our skin care regime, and when you think about it, with our skin being the single largest organ in the body, it makes sense to try and ‘go natural’ with our skincare products.

There are two problems with this., first off, there are far more drug, or synthetic based products out there than natural, and also the natural ones that are out there do appear to be more costly to buy.

So the boring question is“Is changing to natural skin care products worth it?”

My answer? Definitely….

There are a hundred and one reasons why you should switch to natural skincare products, but the number one reason is this:

“Your skin absorbs whatever you put onto it…”

Science has proven beyond doubt that up to 60% of whatever you put onto your skin ends up being absorbed into your body and bloodstream.

Want an example? if you have ever smoked and tried to stop you might have tried a nicotine patch to wean you off of your dependency on nicotine.

These patches are basically sticking plasters that have been impregnated with nicotine, when they become into direct contact with your skin, the nicotine in the patch is gradually passed through your skin and into your bloodstream, this is a process know as transdermal delivery.

Your skin care products work in the same way.

If you make the switch to natural, clean beauty products, your increased investment will pay off in so many ways. – Heres How:

Your Skin

Your skin is so resilient, yet at the same time easily affected by certain chemicals that are found both in the environment and in many common skincare brands.

These can cause irritation, blotchy appearance and even effect the skins natural PH balance.

Choosing a natural range of skin care products can make all the difference.

Your Health

Daily use of synthetic and potentially toxic products could result in hormonal disruptions, and can even cause (in extreme cases) certain cancers, especially if the products used contain harmful parabens.

These harmful ingredients are absorbed through the skin and pass into your blood stream, where they can then get to and attack every major organ in your body.

Your Precious Time

Naturally none of us would choose to put or use potentially dangerous ingredients onto our skin, but who has time to sit down, research and learn about every possible risky ingredient? I don’t, and I am sure that most of you are the same.

The good thing about the internet in particular is that it makes researching far easier, But it gets even easier than that.

Most manufacturers of natural skincare products are very open about their ingredients etc and what you need to do is to look for some quite simple statements on the products labelling such as :

  • Silicone Free
  • Paraben Free
  • SLS Free

Just picking products without these would be a great start.

Peace Of Mind

Our skin breathes through its pores, its also the way that products and these toxins get into our body. The skin has a high rate of penetration, although science has not been as clear on the actual percentage of ingredients that actually get absorbed into our bloodstream.

Now that is in its own right, a serious concern.

There is no doubt that switching over to natural products is the safest way for both us, and our planet.

Our Planet

On the subject of the planet, there is no doubt that if more of us started to choose and use more natural, vegan based sustainable products across the board, there will be less demand and need for the potentially toxic ingredients that can affect our environment, poison our wildlife, water tables and pollute the atmosphere.

Going natural with your skincare regime is in my opinion, the only way forward for informed and ethical shoppers.
